Moderate Cognitive Impairment
Dementia is an umbrella term for cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s is the most common form, accounting for most dementia cases. Dementia is not a specific disease, and there are many types of dementia including; Creutzfeldt-Jakobs disease, Huntington’s disease, Vascular dementia, Alzheimer’s and others. Alzheimer’s does make up about 70% of all dementia.

- Loss of memory
- Loss of reasoning & judgement
- Poor decision
- Cannot focus
- Forgets & repeats conversations
- Forgets appointments
- Forgets names of people
- Cannot remember words or phone numbers
- Trouble with communication
- Trouble with visual and special reasoning
- Cannot problem solve
- Feels confused
- No sense of time or place
- May wander off
- Cannot carry out everyday chores or tasks
- Mood swings, angry outbursts
- Personality changes
