Some technology experts say that the biggest story of tech in 2022 is that it will improve all our lives, especially the aging population. Seniors are increasingly relying on tech to stay connected with family and friends, and even more so for senior healthcare.
The 65 and older senior citizens are adapting to tech at an ever-increasing speed. 65% of them have broadband in their homes, 41% have tablets and 44% have smartphones. These basic technology tools are the foundation for moving into more sophisticated tech.
COVID made it very clear how important tech is for seniors. AARP confirms that technology is here to stay with the elderly. The chief technology officer at Amazon, Werner Vogels, predicts that “In 2022, our homes and buildings will become better assistants and more attentive companions, to truly help with human needs. The greatest impact in the next few years, will be with the elderly.
